I love karate because it challenges me on a personal level. When done right, karate will never lie to you, or sugar-coat things, or let you get away with slacking.

On the other hand, karate will always reward hard work. It will shape and mould you until you are a better person than before. As with most activities, the more you put into karate, the more you get out of it. Even better, when things go poorly, there is no one to blame but yourself, and when you succeed, there is no one to congratulate but yourself.

If you have a reason to keep living, whether it be big or small, simple or complex, send it with a photo and a brief explanation to erica-mck@hotmail.com. Your photo and writing will be featured on the Amber Typewriter in weeks to come!
